Welcome!
My name is Ashley and I’m 27 years old. I have a supportive husband and two beautiful daughters. Working in healthcare has been an interest of mine since a very young age. Nursing is my passion; with a strong interest in supporting mental health. I’ve been a nurse for six years working in a few different settings. I’d love to share a brief piece of my background and what led me to becoming a strong mental health advocate.
I’ve faced tremendous heartache from losing my mom and throughout the year I’ve searched for ways to find happiness again. It hasn’t been easy by any means but I’m still here nonetheless. Life is unfair sometimes but we have the ability to make it the best we can and what a blessing that is!
I believe a healthy environment is detrimental to someone’s well being. To provide stability my focus is based off of factual and honest information. I vow to give my very best intentions in providing that to you. So let’s get started!
We have to focus on taking care of ourselves so that we are available to help take care of others. This platform gives me the power to express myself and speak freely; and that alone is the first step in allowing time for self care.
People don’t always feel comfortable in sharing their story with others. How sad is it to know that they are left with their thoughts alone, through some of the hardest times of their lives? (We) as a society have to come together and make others feel comfortable in their skin; so that they can express themselves without judgement. My ultimate goal in life is to provide a safe place to peers and let them know they aren’t alone on their journey. Who’s with me?

About Me
Taking care of others has always been a passion of mine. There’s nothing better than seeing a smile on someone else’s face. I can most definitely give advice better than I receive it. Often I think of myself as tried and true. If you need me, I will be there.
Throughout life I’ve struggled with mental illness. It doesn’t typically effect my day to day life; however, it’s always there and lingering in the background. I have very HIGH FUNCTIONING anxiety and depression. Truthfully, I think that’s why I’m so good at helping others… because it takes the focus off of my own struggles and gives me something positive to look forward to. Sometimes life is just easier that way.
In March of 2021 I lost my mom to a sudden battle with mental health. My mom was the leader of our pack. The strongest and most outgoing woman you could ever meet. She was a nurse of 30 years and LOVED to take care of others. When I lost her, I lost a part of myself, and I’m still gradually picking up the pieces.
Life is beautiful but it’s also very hard and trying at times. The best way I know to cope is by focusing on positive things that bring you happiness. And for the first time in my life I’ve discovered my true purpose… to help others.
On my page, I plan to incorporate things such as:
– The importance of mental health.
-Specific mental illnesses & details/proven facts regarding the topic.
-Coping mechanisms.
-The grief process.
-My personal story & more.
As time goes on we will dive in deeper. For now, I’m testing the waters and learning how to become a sufficient blogger. If you have any suggestions or interests, please feel free to reach out and share your ideas!
Thank you.
